Cave Diving Courses
What is Cave Diving?
Cave diving takes divers beyond the open water environment into the overhead world of submerged caves, where direct access to the surface is no longer available. It demands precise buoyancy control, reliable equipment configuration, advanced navigation, and the ability to manage complex emergencies in confined spaces. With the right training, divers can explore unique geological formations, crystal-clear passages, and challenging sumps that few have ever seen.
I offer a structured progression of cave diving courses — starting with Cave Diver, where you’ll build solid skills in line work, propulsion techniques, and emergency management; advancing to Full Cave Diver, where you’ll master complex navigation, stage and decompression use, and planning for extended penetrations; and finally the Sump Diving Course, designed for explorers preparing for demanding dry-to-wet cave transitions, requiring specialized equipment strategies, advanced problem-solving, and expedition-style planning.
Cave Diver
The IDF Cave Diver training course is the first step towards cave diving. During the IDF Cave Diver course, you will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform non-decompression cave dives up to 200 meters from the entrance, in caves with fixed guidelines and no restrictions.
Prerequisites:Be at least 18 years oldIDF Master Fundamentals or IDF Master Deep Diver certificationIDF Twinset Diver or IDF Side Mount Diver certificationBe in good health to participate in the course
Full Cave Diver
The IDF Full Cave Diver training is the second step on the cave diving course path. During the IDF Full Cave Diver course, you will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform non-accelerated decompression dives in caves without fixed guidelines, with no restrictions on penetration distance.
Prerequisites:Be at least 18 years oldIDF Cave Diver or IDF Mine Diver certificationBe in good health to participate in the course
Sump Diver
The Sump Diver training is an advanced step on the cave diving path, designed for divers preparing to explore dry-to-wet cave systems. During the Sump Diver course, you will learn the specialized techniques, equipment configurations, and procedures required to safely pass sumps — flooded sections of caves that often involve restricted access, complex logistics, and expedition-style planning.
